Top 5 Reasons to Read

“The more that you read the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you’ll go!” — Dr. Seuss

This quote was fitting for Read In week.  I will be volunteering at a local Junior High School to read to students about the importance of reading. My favorite top 5 reasons:

  1. It improves your verbal abilities
  2. It improves your focus and concentration
  3. Reading makes you smarter
  4. It makes you interesting & more attractive
  5. Reduces Stress

Visit whytoread.com for a complete top 10 list with detailed explanations for each reason.

  1. Hello Laura welcome to WordPress. Richard sent us over here! I love love love your design and your formatting it’s perfectly creative! I also love your header art! Beautiful blog and good luck to you! Happy weekend to you! 😀

      1. OH yay me too! That’s what I do, I’m a graphics designer and illustrator. I had a feeling you were when I saw you header art! Yay it’s so nice to see your blog! You are wonderfully talented I can tell! 😀

      2. I checked out your artwork and liked a bunch! The only samples of my work on the site are my book jackets. I took the photos of all the mountains (from the Rockies in Alberta, Canada) and used GIMP to do the photo manipulation.

      3. OH I love love love that! I didn’t know that violet was shyness! I am so moved by color as well. In fact when I design I usually design by colors. Like if I’m in a fall mood I use all oranges and gold tones. I love the ladder as a symbol of rising! Oh boy is that a good thing! You could make a page on our blog with your art! I tag all of mine Art by MichelleMarie and then there is a bar at the top of my blog of categories. But it looks like you know exactly what you want! I am excited you are here! Yay! My friends Gigi and Melanie have the Artist 4 Peace blog you might want to check that out and if you have submissions you can send them directly to their email. Here’s Gigi’s Blog
